Victoria Way Approved

Hutley Investments has secured planning permission for a reduced version of their planned tower on Victoria Way in Woking.
Now standing at 18 rather than 25 storeys, the design of the previous tower by HLM Architects remains except for the roof-line which with a number of floors missing has been connected more tightly with the lower-rise step it stood above.
Following the reduction of the number of levels within, there has been a corresponding fall in the amount of floor area offered by the project that can be office space.
The scheme when built will contain 17,390 square metres of new office space and 900 square metres of dining and restaurants including a roof-top skybar. There will be an additional café at ground level helping to animate the area around the tower.
If built, Victoria Way will be the largest development to be constructed in Woking for over 20 years. It is part of a wider vision by the local council to have a cluster of modern buildings in their town centre in and around the existing Export House.
Plans include a couple of twenty floor residential towers with at least one other site identified as suitable for a tall building that has yet to see a proposal.
