Eager to press ahead and realise their vision, developer JR Smart has moved fast. Already the office element of the project, designed by local architects Wigley Fox, is under construction on the site. This is a risk they are hoping will pay off thanks to the shortage of large amounts of modern office space in the Welsh capital.
Nearby will stand a residential tower of 25 storeys rising to roughly 75 metres named the Capitol Apartments. There will be 164 new apartments within. This elliptically shaped residential tower comes from the pens of architecture firm, Powell Dobson, and is being developed by the Moorfield Group.
It will be clad in vertical ribbons set over glass giving it dashes of warm autumn hues. This cladding is patterned for every two floors halving the visual repetition each floor would create horizontally.
